Zenge: A Relaxing and Challenging Puzzle Game Heading to Android

Zenge, a new and fun puzzle game, will be coming to the Google Play Store this April 13. Zenge is created by Hamster On Coke Games, an indie puzzle game developer, and it features pure puzzle fun, creative illustrations, and soothing background music. Michal 'Hamster' Pawlowski, a representative of Hamster On Coke Games, gave me a copy of the full game and we got to play Zenge earlier from its release date. So what’s our verdict on the game? Read the full Zenge review to find out.

Gameplay

Zenge is a puzzle game where you put together scrambled puzzle pieces to form an image. However, Zenge is not your ordinary puzzle game. The game features this unique pathway networks that are used as pathways for puzzle pieces. Players are tasked to slide the pieces along the pathways and place them in the right spot of the puzzle. You can tap on a puzzle piece to determine its correct spot in the puzzle.

Once a puzzle piece is placed in the right spot, it will turn into a part of the image. And when all pieces are in place, it will reveal an image depicting the story of Eon, a traveler stuck between worlds and time. As you progress and solve puzzles, you also get to uncover the story of Eon as he journey between worlds. Playing Zenge is like solving puzzles and reading a storybook both at the same time.

Puzzles are easy to solve in early levels. But as you progress, puzzles get more complex. The game adds a bit of challenge on puzzles such as rotating puzzle pieces and combining two or more puzzle parts to form specific shapes before it fit into its right spot in the puzzle.

Graphics, Music, and Design

Game developers want to make Zenge truly entertaining, immersive and relaxing. They made the game simple and with little distractions so that players can put all their attention into solving puzzles. There are no distractions such as ads, time limits, trial counter, in-game purchases, leader boards and whatsoever to distract you in the game. It will be just between you and Zenge.

In addition, players will also get to enjoy the eye candy illustrations made by Korad Januszewski. The music is also very soothing and relaxing. Players will definitely find this game as a stress reliever from a long and busy day. I find the music that soothing that I launched the game and listened to it while writing this review. I’ll have to warn you, though, that you might fall asleep while playing the game late at night.

 Overall Game Experience

Playing Zenge is fun. It’s a no-brainer in early levels. However, once you unlock advanced levels, the puzzles will certainly give your brain a mental workout. I also loved the illustrations. It feels like watching a picture storybook and brings out the kid in me. The music is really good and can help you relax. I also didn’t encounter any performance issues or bugs. Overall, I had fun playing Zenge. You should try it, too.
