Avoid the Black Game Review: An endless obstacle evading game for Android

If you want to play an endless and challenging Android arcade game, you might want to try Avoid the Black game by Apprising. As its name suggest, Avoid the Black is an arcade game where you run through an endless obstacle course while avoiding black obstacles on its path.

In the game, you control a thin line that moves in a zigzag manner. Tapping on the screen will change the direction of the line’s movement.

Your main goal in the game is to avoid the black obstacles you meet in your path and play as long as you can in this endless obstacle course. The longer you keep that line running, the higher you score will be. You earn a score for every second you play in the game.

To help you survive longer, you can use power-ups found in the game. There are only three power-ups in the game: one that slows the time, another creates a bouncy layer on walls for you to safely bounce on, and the last one creates a guide so you can safely navigate through the course. Once collected, these power-up will activate for a given time and then will dissipate.

And while you are avoiding random black obstacles, you get to enjoy a funky techno beat while you play. Listening to it reminds me of Geometry Dash which also features a similar techno background music.

The game’s graphics is good and performance superb as I didn’t experience any hiccups while playing the game on my Android tablet.

Avoid the Black is a simple arcade game that offers pure fun with its simple yet challenging gameplay. However, in the long run, the games gets repetitive and players may easily get bored with the game. Adding some unique gameplay or changing the looks of the game while you play might add some replay factor in the game. Adding avatars for players to choose will also be a nice addition to the game. Instead of controlling a thin line, how about making it into a snake, or into a rocket.

Avoid the Black game is free and is ads supported. At first, I thought it doesn’t have any ads because I didn’t see one while playing. But after a few plays, I found that ads will appear in between plays, which is good because it won’t interfere while you avoid those black obstacles.

The game also supports leaderboards and achievements via Google’s Play Games app. Your scores are stored in the leaderboard and you can compare them with your friends playing Avoid the Black or see how you fared against players around the world.

Go ahead and try Avoid the Black for free and enjoy an endless and challenging Android arcade game.
